The Philippine Bayanihan Society (Singapore) or PBSS participated in community response efforts to help Singapore overcome COVID-19.
On 22 May 2020 PBSS donated a total of 100 pcs of children’s masks to Mask Sewn with Love, a volunteer group of sewing enthusiasts in Singapore. The masks will be distributed to the vulnerable groups in the community, such as shelter and homes, cleaners and domestic helpers as well as vulnerable kids and their families.
Let’s help each other to stay safe by wearing masks.
The Philippine Bayanihan Society Singapore (PBSS) donated a Yellow School Boat to the Yellow Boat Foundation in a turnover ceremony held in May of this year. It is one of the 15 new boats gifted recently to the Yellow School of Hope community in Sitio Tehemen, Maluso, Basilan
The project aims to ensure that the students in coastal communities reach their schools safe and dry. The local families who are the recipients of these boats are also able to use the boats for other livelihood activities in between class hours to better support their families and children.
Dr. Anton Mari Lim, co-founder of the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation, was one of the keynote speakers of last year’s inaugural PBSS’ “Bayanihan Lecture” where he talked about “The power of One and the collective impact of Bayanihan on social entrepreneurship”.
