Description
A collaboration between the Philippine Bayanihan Society (Singapore), the Philippine Embassy in Singapore, and the Philippine Madrigal Singers.
There are limited slots available and it’s a first-come, first-served basis. To secure your virtual slot, register now.
The project aims to provide opportunities for the members of the Philippine Bayanihan Society (Singapore) (PBSS) and the public, to engage in activities to discover interests and develop skills in the fields of music, singing and performance. The project also hopes to provide the venue where people can virtually meet together, in the spirit of camaraderie, joy and peace, while making music. At the end of the workshop series, the participants will gain practical knowledge and skills in singing and performing, that could help them in their self discovery and expression. The sessions would have also encouraged the participants to explore the possibility of joining singing ensembles or create and lead their own choirs.
In addition, the workshop participants would have showcased their talents by way of a virtual performance/recital of popular songs.
The programme includes the following:
A.) Webinars (2 sessions of 1 hour each)
These are short lecture workshops on specific topics such as: History of Philippine Music, Music for Healing and Music Performance.
B.) Voice Sectionals (8 sessions of 2 hours each)
These sessions will discuss basic vocal pedagogy and its elements: breathing and air support for singing, vocal resonation/projection, vocal expression, vocal health, among others. The participants will be grouped under the following voice classifications: sopranos, altos, tenors and basses. The songs that will be used for the virtual performance will also be taught here.
C.) Individual Voice Lessons (2 sessions of 45 minutes each)
These are one-one-one sessions involving the participants and the trainers, so they may work and improve on specific singing and performance skills.
D.) Virtual Performance / Recital
A performance of two (2) songs will be premiered online, featuring the participants of the voice sectionals and individual voice lessons. The Philippine Madrigal Singers will also be joining the performance of the two songs.
